Mountain Metaphor Self Portrait                        Name_____________________________
Earlier in the year we brainstormed a list of mountain words using a mountain as metaphor and focusing on how we connect to mountains. We have learned so much since then and we are going to revisit mountain as metaphor this time focusing on you as an individual.
Our list -Struggle, Anger, Secretive, Grounded, Ancient, Relaxation, Glacier, Tired, Huge, Choice, Snow, Adventure, Time, Formed, Frigid, Free, Legend, Wild
Now add ten more mountain descriptive and/or feeling words to the list-

How are you connected (metaphorically) to a mountain?

Who are you?

What do you feel?

How do you see the world?

How do you think the world sees you?

 What are you thankful for?

What are your hopes for the world?

What message do you want others to hear?

What is a different way you are connected (metaphorically) to a mountain?

When you are done with your brainstorming, format your ideas into prose that fits on a notecard to hang under your picture on the wall.
Indigo
Constantly changing mountainside, externally eroded and internally volatile with emotions
Teacher, mother, artist, bicyclist, runner, mentor, peer, and lover of nature
My heart is volatile with feelings- intense, responsible, hopeful, happy, anxious, worried, and appreciative
Seeing the world full of people doing the best they can with what they have at that moment
Others see me as a creative, outgoing person with crazy hair and fashion
Grateful for the beauty of nature, my family, music, art, my community, health, clean food and water
Wishing people can love themselves enough to see the best in others and act in positivity
Be compassionate to yourself and others, if you see someone without a smile give them yours
Transformative and ready to erupt with sadness or great joy
